“The Icelandic Transport Authority’s innovation grants are an important incentive and a quality seal”

Fiskifréttir recently had an article on the importance of grants from the Icelandic Transport Authority for innovative companies working to improve safety at sea. This included an interview with Gísli Níls, CEO of Alda Safety, who emphasized that such grants are not only important financial assistance but also a strong incentive and quality seal for new solutions. For innovative companies like Alda that are developing new ideas and technologies related to safety at sea, support from public parties can make a great difference in getting projects off the ground and building credibility for our innovation.

Collaboration with public parties and support for innovation play an important role in the development of digital solutions. In the interview, Gísli Níls points out that the grants from the Icelandic Transport Authority have both been an incentive for continued development and confirmation of the importance of the project.

Gísli Níls also mentions that Icelanders are world leaders in maritime safety, which can be largely attributed to the Maritime Accident Prevention School - but it is also the blood, sweat, tears and perseverance of innovators that drives this forward. The grants count for a lot, and society benefits from them and gets them back many times over.

We at Alda Safety are grateful for the support that maritime safety innovation has received and look forward to continuing to develop solutions that contribute to increased fisherman safety.
