At the beginning of October, Hoffell's and Ljósafell's crews held a fire drill with Fjarðabyggð's fire brigade. Smoke diving equipment was reviewed and a smoke diving exercise was held with the ships' crews. Among other things, the task was to go down into the engine room and close the ball valve and go up again. There was a great discussion about fire prevention on board among the crews and various opportunities related to electronic communication equipment and firefighting defects were identified to be examined further after the fire prevention exercise. But now both ships have started using Alda and are well on their way to using it for uniform training on board the ships.
