The aquaculture company Arnarlax and the innovation company Alda Öryggi have entered into a formal partnership to implement the Alda Safety Management System on board all service vessels and feed barges operated by Arnarlax. This collaboration marks new turning point in safety management within the aquaculture industry at sea and represents a significant step in strengthening both safety governance and safety culture within the sector.

With the implementation of Alda, the system will manage onboarding training, training drills and routine safety audits aboard Arnarlax service vessels and feedbarges. Additionally, incident reporting by crew members will be fully digitized through the ATVIK-Sjómenn fishing incident system ensuring efficient analysis and follow-up of safety incidents.

Arnarlax will play a key role in the development process by adapting Alda to the unique safety challenges of offshore aquaculture. The company’s crew members will be actively involved in shaping and refining solutions tailored to their work conditions and needs. This approach is fundamental to the success of the partnership, ensuringthat safety practices become integral part of daily operations while reinforcing the company’s safety culture.
